The University of Groningen (UG) is eligible to receive Colombian students sponsored by Colfuturo in one of its master or PhD programs. At the University Medical Center Groningen, the Graduate School of Medical Sciences is home to two research-oriented master's programs and more than 1.700 PhD candidates.

In order to apply you need to have secured (conditional) admission to one of our master or PhD programs.
Master programs: how to apply?
In case of master applicants, consult the website of the program of your choice. Questions regarding admission to master programs may be directed to admission@rug.nl. PhD applicants contact the Graduate School directly.
For Prospective PhD students

- Considering that websites may be hard to navigate, in case you need assistance locating a supervisor for your PhD project, please reach out to the Graduate School of Medical Sciences by submitting this form along with your CV in English.

Note that it is a hard requirement to submit proof of proficiency in English, as part of your admission to the GSMS PhD program. Minimum score tests: TOEFL iBT 92 (minimum skill score 20) or IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum band score of 6.0 on each individual part); TOEFL iBT Home Edition tests are acceptable. Students who are admitted to the Groningen PhD program and who will obtain their PhD degree (also) from Groningen will receive a top-up of their monthly allowance to the standard for externally funded PhD students. Find more about this unique top-up policy here!

For UMCG supervisors
In order to prepare the letter of acceptance for Colfuturo PhD applicants, UMCG supervisors should provide the Graduate School of Medical Sciences with the information and documentation requested here.
