Over €1000 raised for Mexican communities affected by earthquakes
During the Charity Event for Mexico, that took place on Wednesday the 18th of October in the Wolthorn & Co, over EUR 1000,- was raised for the rebuilding of communities such as La Nopalera and Amilcingo (Morelos), Tepapayeca and Cuacnopalan (Puebla), Ixtaltepec (Oaxaca).
The event was organized by a group of Mexican students as a response to the earthquakes that hit Mexico in September. It was attended by the ambassador of Mexico to the Netherlands, the rector of the University of Groningen, Professor Elmer Sterken, and the director of the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Dr. Martin Smit.
Apart from live music, Mexican food, and authentic Mexican products were sold.
