Management of Transfusion Medicine is helping students improve blood supply programs in Tanzania

The Management of Transfusion Medicine (MTM) program is a collaboration between the UMCG and Sanquin, the Dutch blood bank.

In the MTM program, students from developing countries get the chance to gain important leadership and management skills in order to improve the blood supply systems in their own country. One of our students, Dr Pendaeli Sifueli, tells about his experiences with the program.

“Being recognized and admitted in this very important course in the field of transfusion medicine it gives me the best feeling and confidence in my working area here in Tanzania at Southern Zone National Blood Transfusion Service. I feel overwhelmed with so much gratitude, that I would like to share my achievement since I started this course.

I am getting all the support from my supervisors and teachers. They are ready to help me at any time. So I thank everyone and I welcome all who qualify to join this wonderful course in medicine.”
