Strategic Partners

International Partnerships

We strongly believe that only a truly international research environment will guarantee cutting-edge research. International collaborations in turn will only flourish if they exist in an environment of shared interests and mutual trust.

Our internationalization policy as laid down in the Abel Tasman Talent Program (ATTP) was designed to tailor to exactly this need: strengthen our network of institutional partnerships and improve the quality of our educational program and research output. Currently, the partners in the tables below are officially listed as ATTP and/or University of Groningen (UG) partners.

With these institutions we set up a scheme of international student and staff exchange, joint funding programs, publications and seminars as well as the joint supervision of young research talent.

Award Policy Sandwich PhD program

The Graduate School of Medical Sciences (GSMS) each year has a limited number of ATTP sandwich PhD positions available. Our award policy favors projects with those universities listed as ATTP partners and spin-off of GSMS-coordinated activities.

Award decisions are subject to the availability of funds. The GSMS retains the right to change or deviate from its standard award policies.
